THIS BOOK IS A GUIDE TO THE FULL ONLINE WORKING ANCIENT SCRIPT DECIPHERMENT SYSTEM.
For over a century, the great undeciphered scripts of antiquity have resisted all attempts at translation. The Indus Valley script, Proto-Elamite, Linear A, Khitan Large, Cretan Hieroglyphic, Cypro-Minoan, and Rongorongo have remained silent, their meanings locked behind the barrier of time.
Conventional linguistics has approached these scripts with a single assumption: that they are languages like any other—systems of arbitrary signs representing sounds and words. For scripts with no bilingual text and no known language, this assumption leads to a dead end.
The Brett Method proposes a different hypothesis: that several ancient logographic scripts encode a shared classification system in which signs are organised by a small set of determinatives, each corresponding to a frequency band and a social/cosmological class. The same organising pattern recurs across otherwise unrelated scripts.

Nicolas Brett is a South African author and researcher whose work explores loyalty, suppressed truths, and the human cost of silence. Drawing on his background as an entrepreneur and tribunal administrator, he blends authentic grit with literary depth. His debut novella Unopened examines brotherhood, war, and hidden love, bringing raw realism and emotional resonance to themes of identity, memory, and legacy. Brett’s voice bridges lived experience with universal reflection.
