About this book

Volume II of THE ERASED CIVILIZATION: A Restoration of African Memory. "The Cartographic Invasion" exposes how Africa was carved up by pens, not people (1500–1900) — through papal bulls, royal decrees, merchant charters, and treaty lines drawn by men who never set foot on the land they claimed. Across 16 chapters, Nicolas traces the legal machinery of conquest from the Doctrine of Discovery (Dum Diversas, 1452) and the Treaty of Tordesillas, through the VOC octrooi and the loan-farm cadastral system, to the Berlin Conference (1884–85), the treaty lines, the Glen Grey Act, and the deliberate invention of "tribes." A forensic reconstruction of how maps became weapons and how a continent's sovereignty was erased on paper. Free to read online, courtesy of the International Plebeian Tribunal Academy. Volume II in an eight-part series.
